Yay, it’s the weekend! After a short week, it’s already here. But lately i’ve been feeling like everything’s so jam packed that those fly by too fast, and I’m left feeling shortchanged.
I wish there was one day that was dedicated to doing absolutely nothing. Sundays should be for that, but that never happens. I really do love the times when I can lay in bed and do nothing but watch TV, troll pinterest, maybe catch some Cat Saturday and Post Secret, and snoozle. Lazy bones. But usually there’s too much to do. So today I’m taking a few minutes before I run out for errands, and an upper body day at the gym, and a concert! to share some of my recent fave pins.
Plus, I think you can learn a lot from a person from the pins they pin, so it’s a good opportunity for my readers to learn about me. If you like what you see, follow me
Let’s start with Fashion!
I love these mint mocs!
I have a very eclectic style, part stepford wife, part rocker chic? I don’t know. I don’t mix the two looks, but I don’t conform to one style. And I love me a good (faux) leather jacket, red lipstick, and topknot.
I die. I’ve been known to rock a mean bandana, but I usually reserve them for music festivals :/
My wardrobe has been in a major crisis, but my favorite way to mix it up is some fun accessories. I’m all about sarves or tights or sunglasses to mix things up and for better or worse, act as conversation starters.
Finally, hair and makeup completes the look, and lately I’ve been all about nude lipstick and that nail nude/coral color. Where can I find that??? Right meow!
I actually went to at least a half dozen stores looking for that lipstick to avoid buying the expensive YSL version on NYE. One tube left in town and I found it! And I lost it at the wedding I attended. Boooooo!
That pin, that hair, that beauty reminds me of my Momma. She was a stunner.
Okay, since I’m getting hungry, let’s make that worse and check out my food pins!
I don’t make many of the recipes I pin on pinterest, but here are few I have in the past.
I made that for Thanksgiving, since everyone else in my boyfriend’s family was making the classics. Leave it to me to be different, but it was a hit!
This had potential, but I used Stevia instead of sugar. Why!!?? I used all the other “junky” ingredients. It would’ve been better with sugar, obviously, and i should know by now not to mess with baked goods. 99% of the time, healthier subs just fall short. :/ You live, you learn.
Okay, one more. I actually had started a small baking company, but when my Dad got sick, I had to let that go. I still bake, but not nearly as much. But, this is one of my all time fave recipes. I want S’more!
Okay, now for “real food.”
I mentioned this on the blog before, but it’s just so beautiful. I tend to opt for my easy usual go-to’s for meals, but occasionally I want to branch out. This was the last non-baked-good I made from pinterest. Otherwise I find food inspiration from the blogs I read.
Pinterest also acts as my “dream board.” I pin things for my dream home, vacations, and my future wedding (no, I’m not engaged).
We are planning a trip to Greece in the fall. I got a passport years ago and have yet to use it before the thing expires! Sadly, I’ve never been to Europe. Look at what I’m missing!
I LOVE mirrored furniture!
How perfect is that house?!
Clark+Walker is a local photography company that does the most beautiful weddings! I think planning my wedding will be a nightmare, I’m so indecisive. But I love the idea of the penthouse views of a big city. At least in their pictures!
I also hope my Dad will be there to walk me down the aisle, and dance with me. I love the song “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw for our dance (he’s a country fan), but another song might be more appropriate.
(Funny ’cause it’s) true story: I kind of broke all the rules (in a good way–which calls for a post), with my current boyfriend, and after maybe 3 weeks of dating, I invited him to my brother’s fancy 50th surprise birthday party, where he met many of my family member’s including my father. No pressure! The only thing my Dad said to my boyfriend besides nice to meet you, is “I loved her first.” Like the song by Heartland. Luckily he’s a good sport, and we like to joke about this still.
Ok, just a few more! Funnies, furballs, and words to the wise.
Yesssss! Just a glimpse into my quirky personality/sense of humor. I am the current reigning Unicorn Princess. I have 2 stuffed unicorns, a unicorn on a stick, a unicorn Winter Hat (which is one of my most prized possessions) and friends and aquantences and even some strangers equate me with unicorns. Now, with no choice of my own, I’ve basically become Christine Taylor’s character in Dodgeball (kidding, kinda. No, my house isn’t a unicorn shrine).
I blame my best friend, god love her, and I actually have a board devoted to just her because she’s just that awesome. Here are some “Erin” inspired pins.
She’s an artist and we lived together while we were both getting our Masters (hers in Fine Arts and mine in Communications. She definitely shook up my status quo in the best most dangerous way possible.
When Erin first came back from summer vacation to our apartment, we realized we were both going to the same concert. <3 It was there our fate was sealed, after an adventurous bike cab adventure due to me forgetting my tickets in the car, across the State Park.
Erin enlisted me for many a art piece. Usually against my will. Really anything weird or that makes you say, WTF, or has glitter or unicorns or cats reminds me of Erin. And I love her. She makes me better.
Yay for besties and furries! (Not THAT kind, sicko!)
Okay, I’ll leave you with some words of wisdom.
Thanks to anyone who made it through that monster post!
Okay, I’ve gotta run. Happy Weekend!
